The Michigan IFTA IPC System is an online comprehensive system permitting authorized users allowing the Department of Treasury to manage the requirements of the International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA). IFTA provides for the uniform administration of motor fuels use taxation for motor carriers operating in multiple member jurisdictions. This system has been designed to permit motor carriers to order the IFTA license and decals, renew the IFTA license, file IFTA tax returns, make IFTA payments, and communicate with the Michigan Department of Treasury in a safe and secure electronic environment.

The Michigan Department of Treasury is here to assist you. Please contact us at (517) 636-4580, or by email at IFTA_licensing@michigan.gov.

3rd Quarter 2021 Returns DUE BY NOVEMBER 1ST
It's time to file your return for the 3rd quarter 2021. Once you have logged into your account, click on the link for "Work on My IFTA account". Click "Start this return" next to the 3rd quarter return. Once you have entered your schedule information (miles and gallons), click "Save and Calculate Taxes" and then click "FILE". Until you click "FILE", your return has NOT been filed. Payment can be made electronically by credit card, e-check or by mailing a check with a copy of the invoice. The address for mailing a payment can be found on the invoice. To avoid penalty and interest, your payment must be postmarked by November 1, 2021.

The renewal period for 2022 IFTA licenses will begin on November 1, 2021. You will not be receiving a renewal application in the mail. All renewals must be completed online using the MI IPC system. DO NOT RENEW UNTIL YOU HAVE VERIFIED YOUR MAILING ADDRESS IS CORRECT. If you are delinquent for any quarterly IFTA returns, owe taxes or both, you will not be allowed to renew for 2022 and won't be eligible to receive your IFTA license and decals for 2022. Please take a moment to check your account status to verify that all returns have been filed and all taxes have been paid. If you have not already done so, please use your online IPC account to file all returns and pay liabilities that are due to avoid delays in renewing your license for 2022. If you have questions or concerns, please contact the IFTA Unit by calling (517) 636-4580 or e-mail IFTA_Licensing@michigan.gov.
